Exclamation silencer ring????

read a post yesterday that talks about a silencer ring in the turbo of the 03 6.0. if so can i take it out , and should i ??? how does it come out? i want my turbo to be loud!!!!!!!!!!

january 2003 6.0 F-350 Lariat 4x4 cc with 08 long bed. recon cab and mirror lenses, torqueshift(reman on 9-03-09) with three disc billet convertor(500 rpm lowered stall speed),mag-hytec deep tranny pan,, 8" fabtech lift w/ 37" iroc super swampers on helos,pro comp ladder bars, custom sct x3 with tunes by eric @ innovative diesel, boost and pyro,edge insight, afe, 4" straight piped, ARP headstuds, banks intercooler & high ram intake. engine mods & maintenance by first coast diesel performance.

do you have any insulation around your downpipe? you can remove that and it will be a little louder. have you removed your cat?

On the early 03 turbos...it's just a ring pressed into the intake side of the turbo. Pull off the intake and you can work it out with a small, flat screwdriver...and yes..the whistle will increase quite a bit if that's what you're after. In later years it was a part of the housing and has to be machined out.

Ok I tried to find but no luck.do I have to take the entire intake off to get to it.
