EGR Cooler..How do I know if mine is deleted?

I bought a used 2004 6.0 PSD, and I have checked to see if I have stock heads bolts or ARP Studs and I have currently have the stock head bolts. Now my questions is how can I tell if the EGR cooler and been removed/welded/modified?

Looking down into the truck without anything apart I see this pipe. The pic is not of my truck but from a installation booklet on how to remove the EGR system.

Since I see that pipe does that mean the EGR system has been removed?

Awesome!! So I assume that the pipe it connects to is a solid uppipe.
