question about turbo
Someone told me you could take a screen or filter out of the turbo to make it whistle more, if you can do this how can you take it out and is it smart to do this ???
I got a K&N filter that is on the truck. It also has a 5'' exhaust, it sounds really sweet but I want more turbo whistle sound. |

You would have to change the compressor wheel for for whistle. And you can remove the foil from the intercooler tube on the driver's side. There is no screen/filter inside the turbo. Also almost everyone here will tell you to get rid of the K&N filter. They let too much dirt past and dirt+turbo/cylinders = bad.
Hope this helps |

Welcome to the forum, were you talkin to a dodge guy? They take out the silencer ring makes the turbo whistle quite a bit more. But not in the fords, i agree with MrJohnWayne.

I'm not sure about a direct drop in. Most people do the tymer intake if not aftermarket.

I've heard alot of the Powerstrokes having a real sweet whistle to them. Where in the intercooler tube is this foil located? How far do I need to tear into to get to it? Thanks, Powerstroke49

Get rid of the cat and the muffler, you will hear alot of turbo whistle and some real good sound.

what year is your truck? if you have foil on your intercooler tube you will see it as soon as you open the hood.
