coolant filtration

Any one out there made there own coolant filtration set up? i looked into the dieselsite one and it seems to be very simple i found a remote mount coolant head for around 30 bucks i have the quarter turn ball valves at work and the hose and fittings. I was wondering if any one knows the size of the "t" that ties into the heater core line the bull of the tee looks like it would be 1/4 in along with the "T" at the degass bottle. any one know the size of the run on the t or the straight peice?

I got all of my stuff from carquest, the filter housing and filter. $10/ea for the filter.

I used regular hose from autozone for the various sizes I needed and got all of my fittings from lowes.
