Buying a new truck Monday!!!!!
Hey guys!!! I've been shopping for my next truck for about 6 months now. I'm a former Duramax owner and loved my truck but I just want something different. I believe i've found my truck!! It's a 2005 F-250 Lariat. It's two-tone burgundy and beige, sunroof, power sliding rear window, ect. It has a 6" Superlift, brand new 35" Nitto A/T's, 20" Moto metals, 4" exhaust. Truck has 103,000 miles on it and i'm getting it for just a hair over $20k. Truck seems to have no issues. I drove it for about an hour and a half today and not even one hiccup!
Here's my thing: I'm also a member of Dieselplace.com and they would do free VIN checks for everyone. Do you guys do that here? I'd really like to check on that! Planning to purchase Monday. Any advice for a newby Powerstroker?! ![]() Thanks!!! Jeremy |

i say go for it man! i bought mine with 150k and no regrets.... first things first.. youre getting a great deal for a fully loaded truck with good mileage and some tasteful upgrades. Put the money out up front to save you possible headaches later
EGR Delete Coolant Filter cat delete (if that 4 inch doesnt have it already) Edge Insight SCT with custom tunes Synthetic oil ELC coolant flush this 2k will pretty much save the 6.0 without spending big money. I did this and i couldnt be happier. Knowing what your getting into and planning ahead puts you in the front of the pack. Any more questions please pm me and ill help you out |

I really appreciate the help guys!!! That actually answered some more questions that I was going to ask later! I'm thinking the coolant filter and the EGR delete are somethngs that I can fab up correct? Or would it be easier to buy kits? I would need to SCT when deleting the EGR to stop the codes correct?
The VIN is 1ftsw21px5ec12462 Thanks again guys!!! Jeremy |

Go for it, I thought I wanted a cummins, but after test driving Gmc and Dodge trucks I ended up getting my 2005 F350 Lariat, so far I love this truck.

I have a 2004 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 and have had ( to me ) minor problems. One injector at 117,000 and the alternator went out at 235,000. I hotshot haul with it and never hesitate to leave Atlanta and wonder whether my truck will make it. I have been all over the United States in the past year. One word to the wise, never skimp on changing the oil and fuel filters. Clean oil is the key to this engine!

Got the check on the table! The wife is in class tonight so i'm waiting on my buddy to get here to take me to get it! I believe this weekend i'm going to: 1)Unplug the EGR valve 2) Reroute the CCV 3)Check the oil cooler lines to see if any buildup 4)HAVE ALOT OF FUN DRIVING IT!!!
Anything else you guys would recommend? Also, i'll post up some pics either tonight or tomorrow! Thanks! Jeremy |
