Do i Have A Turbo Problem?
My truck is an '06 with only 16 thousand miles on it.
It has MBRP duals,SCT and Edge CTS. Yesterday upon startup I noticed a louder than usual turbo whistle while at idle. Also when I shut it off I can hear a faint scrapping noise through the exhaust as the turbo spools down. Anyone have some thoughts? Thanks, Ed |

Remove the air filter tubing going to the turbo. Look for damaged fins, look for scratches on the turbo housing where the turbo blades almost touch. Grab the shaft and check for excesseive play, up, down, left, right, there should be alittle. I believe the shaft should only move about .022" on a new turbo. Also push and pull on the shaft, while turning it, listening for scraping.

Another problem is 16k on an 06 because if they set they will rust up have you added any cetane boost to the fuel i like the Ford stuff, it should still be under warranty it should only cost $100 to have the turbo cleaned or replaced then drive it like you stole it about everyother week that will help.2 stroker |

^^^^^ What they all said. I bought my 04 used last year with 28,000 on it. The Oasis showed 3 turbos had been replaced, true statement, "don't use it, lose it"
