New guy
Howdy ya'll. Been browsing for a bit, time for intro. Got a new (to me, 2 months now) 2005 F250 6oh Lariat, had a spray-in bed liner at dealer done. Not a scratch on this thing, looks show room condition. Had a total of 23,500 miles on it. The guy that had it towed a 5th wheel between ND and TX. Snow-bird type of guy. He had all services done on sched., basically treated it like a kid Oasis is clean, has had no repairs or break-downs, etc. Well, that part ended when I got it. Did the 3 mods, definately not babying it myself. Love the way it *barks* and I make it bark alot, like a rabid dog. The Ford mechanic told me not to baby it, was not made to be momma's slo-ride....LOL. Love the way I can lay rubber in several gears when I take off gently.... yea.... I think after it stops raining, I'm gonna unplug the EGR and use my SCT to turn it off. Will do the EGR delete/studs as $$ allows. The next item will probably be guages (non-digital), then a kick azz stereo/navigation (Alpine). I'm also thinking next oil change it's gonna be T6, coolant flush and some ELC.

That's a start but you might want to consider something like the Edge Insight or Dashdaq. They let you monitor everything the computer is monitoring. With these trucks it is important to monitor the ECT and EOT as that will tell you if you are developing a clogged oil cooler. Or you could just wait till the truck starts pukin', the egr cooler fails and you need to put head gaskets on it. Just something to consider.

^^^^What he said. Also you might want to look into getting gauges fairly soon because your EGTs can climb a lot faster than you would expect.

Run it till she pukes... then throuw lots of money at it!
Edge insight can be found for ~$300! |

Scangauge II is only $160. No it wont read fuel pressure, oil pressure, or EGT's. Most everything else, yes.
Maintenance is VERY important. All in all, sounds like you have done your research. Good job. Keep this handy: Powerstroke 6.0L Technical Intro Manual Good place to buy filters: Ford 6.0 Liter Turbo Diesel Truck Filters, Air Filters, Oil Filters, Transmission Filters And Glow Plugs - Diesel Filters,Additives, brake rotors, and brake pads for Chevy, Dodge and Ford Diesel Trucks And go here and post a note requesting the spread sheets, no you don't need to read the whole thread, just post a request. Thanks ya'll. There's a place in town supposedly sells the Edge CTS. I'm gonna go talk to them and see if they can do the EGR delete and ARP head bolt swap this winter. So far I love this truck, hope I'm one of the lucky ones that don't have any problems. The only thing I'm worried about, because of the low miles, does the turbo has rust in it. Time will tell, just hope it's not on a trip.... LOL

Thanks, that's interesting. I think I could do that. If I do, how much harder would it be to do the delete and stud change myself?
