First oil change since buying powerstroke

as the title states im getting my first oil change since buying my 05 4x4 last month and was hoping to get some insight on what is good to get changed along with it not knowing maintenance history. i heard that using non motorcraft parts might hurt the truck(crazy claim but who knows lol). any info would be great since everyone on this site has lots of knowledge. thanks!

For oil i like synthetic.. mobil 1, but use only ford coolant that is a must on the 6.0 but as far as oil goes any diesel oil is ok but the injectors will stay happier longer with synthetic oil.
