Best diagnostic tool for the $

Didnt find anything on this whats the best diagnostic tool for the $ when it comes to the 6.0s and 7.3s? Is the motorcraft ids mds labtop software the only way to go? It says it was like $2700 without a labtop

That would be the best way to go.

But Autoenginuity with the pro link data connector works well too

Yeah I know it is a pretty basic setup compared to others, but for the $$$ I felt it was worth a shot.

That only tells you what codes have been set. It doesn't do any diagnostics like AE.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO. Does anyone have any tips to starting a customer client base? Phone book? I will be traveling to the location of the truck usually. Not looking really start balls deep into pulling the cab off of a truck just yet. Im decently experienced in changing injectors and egrs and that sort.
