Whooshing Sound?

Hey guys, when I pushed my truck to 3K RPM's today on the highway I heard like a whooshing noise coming from underneath the hood. It was about 100* and my ECT was about 210, was it the fan? It is scaring the crap out of me, as I am 750 miles from home right now. It sounded normal until I pushed it hard. But I live in Alabama, and I usually never hear my fan come on, cuz my ECT stays below 200*.

Any help is appreciated!!

also check your intercooler boots...esp the one straight off the turbo as my brothers made a wooshing noise when turbo got good and spooled up. you dont wont it to completely blow like his did when we were moving my mom from KY to IN. he had his 22 ft enclosed loaded and i had a 20 ft enclosed loaded and on the first monster hill we hit it blew and he lost all power. needless to say...we dropped a trailer and i had to make a round trip in one day to go pick it back up so he could get home so his kids could go to school and him and his wife go to work.

I'm about ready to sell this truck. People said with he's studs and an EGR delete you would fix all the problems, but I am constantly having to dump $200-$300 in this thing and it's about like another car payment. I wish I could find a good deal on a lower mileage modded 6.4.

But then again, I guess all vehicles over 100k start deteriorating.

Join the club, brother. It has been in the back of my mind to ditch the 6.0 and get a 5.9.

I wouldn't ever leave a Ford, but I guess it's just to a point where things start breaking. I mean it is 7 years old!
