You will find much more information from the search bar than a single post. Everyone will say synthetic is the best and everyone enjoys Mobil, rotella, schaeffers, amsoil and some others that I can not think of.
It is a personal preference discussion and what ever your oil analysis states. |

Mobil 1 and Valvoline Extreme has worked best for me.

Yeah i have herd and read a lot of good things about rotella. What about royal purple is it worth the money or is it only good if you are racing or have a really high performance 6.0.

It's all good, just make sure you don't do any extended oil changes. My last oil change I was using Chevron Delo and my oil analysis came back pretty good. I was curious how rotella would turn out so I switched back to that. Here in a few I'll be sending out another analysis, so we'll see how rotella runs in my truck. You'll hear tons of peoples opinions on oil, I personally use what's on sale...haha

i have been runnin rotella for like 10 years now, i like it, seems like every fresh oil change the rig runs smoother and quieter, i tried the mobile a couple of times didnt notice any difference, would love to go synthetic, but never have the 200 to spend on oil changes

As stated above, you will hear a lot of opinions. However, most have not tested them all so their good experiences with certain oils are not based on comparison testing against their own experiences with other brands. But, no matter the brand, you should see good results out of most synthetics in general. Just make sure that you use synthetics over conventional, that is the biggest contributing factor.

I have a 7.3L and my roommate has a 6.0, we both run the Ford Motorcraft Diesel oil because it has all of the vital compounds needed for our trucks. This oil was made specifically for the Powerstroke engine. They're usually on sale at local AutoZone or Advanced Auto stores (O'Reillys doesn't seem to stock them where I live)...
