black smoke on take off

Just traded my 7.3L for a 6.0L.

On take off, I have a little bit of black smoke. Didn't notice on any of my test drives, but did notice of course after I signed everything and turned over my keys to my old 7.3 and Caddy. Now, as best I could tell, and I looked hard for all the tell tale signs, there are no mods on this dude.

It's a very small amount of smoke, but yet still some black smoke.

I've never really noticed this out of other 6.0's when driving so of course I'm asking you guys if this is normal.

We did pull out the EGR valve to take a look at things, did we maybe stir up a little something? I don't know.

Yes, the smoke is black. Not very heavy, but it is black. My 7.3L would roll coal with the best sled pullers so I have something to compare it too.

Its normal even stock to have some smoke on take off. It shouldnt be black out conditions but a hint of it is normal.

That's the answer I was hoping to hear. I can't say that I ever payed enough attention to the other 6.0's riding around, but as long as it's normal I'm good with it.

Even when I was stock, after a long trip I could lug it and roll a little. Just don't be overly gentle to the truck and it will love it.
