"Turning off" EGR w/ Custom Tunes
What, if any, are the actual benefits of TURNING OFF the EGR with a Custom Tune through the SCT? (not mechanically deleting the EGR)
Thanks! EDIT: Also, does the valve stay truly closed? And by only turning off the valve, is there still the risk on the EGR cooler over heating? All in all, I guess what I want to know is how effective is turning off the EGR valve compared to an EGR delete? Last edited by white07; 07-14-2010 at 07:04 AM. |

im no expert here, i do have my egr turned off in all my tunes.... i belive the stock programming shuts off egr under full throttle or heavy loads, so tuners just take that one step further and program the parameters so its always off, i dont know how or where it shuts if off.... im still getting egr delete as my next mod
