Bullydog outlook?

i am brand new to diesels. these things are like speaking spanish to me. im looking at an 06 6.0 with a bullydog intake and a bullydog outlook, and 4" exhaust, 6" lift, and 35" tires, 3:73 gears. The truck is a CCSB FX4. is the outlook a tuner, or is it just for monitoring? also, this truck gets 11.4 mpg city driving. is this about average? what is a good tuner for fuel mileage purposes only? this isnt gonna be a race truck, just a grocery getter.

The outlook is just a monitor but if it has the bully dog program on the truck it will controll that. I had one on my 06 and i just used it for gauges. Everybody on here is going to tell you go with SCT with custom tunes. Its what i had on mine and loved it.

if u get the truck, get yourself an sct tuner (x3 or x2) and get some custom tunes, you WILL be amazed.

ok, i just spoke with the dealership. i got all the service history on this truck. its had head gaskets done twice now. once in '06 and again in may of this year. also in may, it had a glow plug and an injector replaced, egr replaced twice. does this sound like a problematic truck? or should i be fine if i get an extended warranty?

How do you go about getting an SCT Tuner and what does it stand for? I take it you have to take it to speciality diesel place to get custom tunes? I have the bullydog programmer on mine right now, don't really like it-Thanks

SCT is the brand of tuner, just look up this website innovativediesel.com , they can hook u up, a custom tune is written for your truck then emailed to you and you download it onto the SCT yourself. it has very detailed instructions on how to download the program onto your computer, and if u run into a problem then the guys at innovative will walk you through it. trust me, if you can tie your shoe then you can install a custom onto your truck. very easy and painless.

I have the Bullydog Outlook on my truck plus the Powerpup tuner and RFI intake on my truck too. The Outlook is a monitor and also controls the % of power output. I personally love the set up and it works WELL.

They likely won't honor it with the aftermarket parts. I'd look for a different stock truck.
