Quick Turbo Question...

Hi, I have a 05 f350 6.0, and am in need of a new turbo. I am told that at some point, ford redesigned the 6.0 turbo. If I was buying a used turbo say from someone here, what build date should I be looking for to get the latest model?? Thanks in advance!

Garrett released a slightly upgraded version that a few people are running on here and are seeing good results from it. As for your original question, ford used 3 versions IIRC. The 03's and some 04's got the loud whistle from fewer vanes. If you want the "latest", that would be the one from Garrett, the last version ford used was on the 06 and up.

03 = 10 vane
04 = 12 vane
05-07 = 15 vane quietest and quickest spooling of the 3
