Underhood blanket?

A friend just got his 06 6.0 back from the dealer after the egr cooler when south. I was looking under the hood and wondered if he had a blanket attached to the underside of the hood. He thought he did but couldn't remember for sure. Does anyone know for sure if all 6.0s had this or not? Thanks

not sure what your talkin about exactly but my 05 6.0 is just bear metal on the underside of my hood... is that what your askin?

My 04 has the insulation on the inside of the hood, but a friends 05 does not.

when i bought my 05 used it didnt have the hood liner, i had to ask for it as part of the deal.

This kinda felt blanket attached to the underside of the hood is a sound deadner. It's on my 02 7.3 but not on the buddy's 06 6.0. From what several of you are saying that the later models don't have it. Thanks, I guess he never he had one and we just didn't notice if it was or wasn't there. Thanks again.

Probably either a cost cut or a way to lower under hood temps. My 04 had one my 06 does not. There was a post about this 4months ago and it came to a consensus that the change happened in the 04/05 my.

I've got one, and it's a pain in the butt to clean!!!! I still haven't gotten all the coolant off from when my HG's let loose.

Most likely it was eliminated to save $$. They also stopped including the fender liners.

I had to purchase mine. I do not remember how much but I love it. It has a better hold on the heat when the eng is off and the eng noise is lower.
