K&N intake or not?
I have a K&N cold air intake and was wondering what this is doing for my engine? Check engine light was on this week and Ford said it is related to the K&N,BUT it has been on the truck for 64,000 miles and hasent had any problems before. They just sold me the truck with a $2,500.00 extended warranty should I have them install the factory system to protect my warranty?

To protect your turbo, replace that kit. You can use a OE system, or something like the AFE filter system
.

NOT. If you really want an AM intake get S&B.

Love my AFE

I personally love the fact that my K&N gives me hp/tq and it is a hell of a lot cheaper to clean the intake filter than to keep buying those stock donaldson filters.
I also don't go mudding or really anything else that would throw crud all over my filter. And I check it regularly. |

How often did you change the OEM filter? They should be good for about 30-50K, depending where you drive (dirt roads).

not for nothing its still 65 bucks every 30k when you can clean most intake kits. |

As for the warranty issue, look into the Magnuson (I’ve seen it spelled with two “S”s too)-Moss Act. Basically the dealer/Ford has to show that the aftermarket part caused any damage/failure. I think K&N will help you with this if the dealer tries to deny coverage due to having one of their intakes |
