2005 6.0 oil cooler?
I have a 2005 6.0 F250. I've been reading posts on the oil cooler. I recently did the egr by pass on my truck. Didn't think about the oil cooler. Through all the reading I see that if the Coolant Temp and the Oil temp is more than 15 deg different then the oil cooler should be replaced. This weekend I took a 1 hour and half road trip not pulling anything running 73 mph on the highway my temps were:
Coolant Temp: 192 -194 Oil Temp: 204 -207 Should I replace the oil Cooler since these are pretty close to the 15 degree difference? I will be towing my travel trailer the end of this month just dont want to over do something. Thanks Chris |

I think those temps seem normal to me. Do you have a coolant filter on your truck yet?

Do the coolant filter, and it may be ok
. I don't have one yet, but its on the list, as is the Insight, so I can check the temps

Go to www.dieselsite.com and look at their coolant filter setup. Most of us use them and it can save your oil cooler and water pump. Well worth the cost.
