exhaust leak

i'm having a loud hissing noise coming from under the truck, also a very high pitched whistle when accelerating. i cant find where its coming from, ive pinpointed it to be from the back of the motor, possibly the crossover pipe. is it common to have a break in that pipe?

I have air noise on the 06, Im sure its because the cat is clogged with 125k miles.
I hear it at 10 to 20 boost. Below 10 I do not hear it.
Im going to hollow the cat next week.
When the cat clogged on the 04 at about 100k miles, I was pulling a trailer and power would come and go with a steady accelerator.

Poss. EGR cooler clamp loose?? Had that a few days ago it sounded like a very crappy sax player. Mine wound up being a loose bolt on the Y pipe flange between the up pipe and the Y on the pass side. Hope that gives you something more to look for.

Check you turbo up pipes to see if they are cracked in the flex section.

Dang it! Here I was just at a firework stand this weekend and I didn't buy a couple packages of smoke bombs! I'd clean my shop vac out and light one of them suckers and put the hose on the exhaust side of the shop vac and blow the smoke up my exhaust pipe to find any leak I might have after I've done some wrenching in that area.

Now, I'm using a stick with a piece of ribbon on it to find the leak while the truck is running.

Maybe there is still a stand in town.

Edit: There was a stand selling out. Got my smoke bombs for future work.
