Yes and that is a very good turbo. I want to go with a non VGT. BUT... Part of emissions testing has to do with a smoke test. From idle they snap the RPM's to 2.5k-3k. They look for smoke but how much for how long is EXTREEMLY debatable...

So I am trying to do as much research on turbos as I can before I get one. The SS is the biggest that I might get and the garrett powermax is the biggest I will get. I know it I got bigger I WILL smoke too much. So far I am fixed on either 155cc or 175c inj.

But this is about the VGT-SS. So what are your opinions on this??

Thanks

That is what I am worried about. when did you get it and what were you using with it?

What broke?

Did you have a blow off valve?

I got it about two and a half years ago and last summer the bearings went out and the exhaust side turbine shredded to sh!t.. All the veins and the housing is full of little dents from the veins coming apart.. I didnt have a blow off valve, also that was with stock injectors.

Wow, with stock inj? I hope that was poor quality control... With stock inj I am sure you would not require a blow of valve because the stock inj could not push enough fuel do breake that turbo... Unless I am wrong... ???

So what happend after it broke?
