Thumbs down F250 too costly

My F250 with 90k was not possible to drive it reasonably anymore, it started to switch the gear not properly. I gave it for inspection and ended up with an invoice of $3850. They did a transmission overhaul and had the torque coverter, pump bushings, shift kit, TCC and EPC solenoids and new filter to be replaced. Is this really correct price for that? I have an Edge insight newly installed and read a temp difference EOT ECT of 11-14* at 75 highway. Is this the next repair to be done and how much would this cost to have it done in a diesel repair shop?
