Questions with Street and extreme street?
Having recently upgraded and got my SCT with tunes from Eric, Im very impressed with the trucks performance, expecially on the extreme street tune.
But i have a few questions about the tunes. The 3 i choose were tow, street and extreme street, the difference between street and extreme street were far greater then i expected.
The street tune filled in the bottom end of the truck nicely and it dramatically improved both engine and transmission performance. But the truck top end power feels rather lacking. in addition it burns very clean with little to no smoke
The extreme street on the other hand is a beast, good bottom end power that continues all the way up. great power whenever you lay into it. But this tune is um.... rather smokey. especially when taking off and laying into it, it will leave a thick cloud of smoke. and if on hwy with torque converter locked, if you give it gas it smokes until it downshifts or you back out gas. now at low or part throttle, the truck burns clean.
I guess i was expecting closer performance between the street tune and the extreme street tune seeing as on paper they are very close. I love and want the power of the extreme street tune, but i like the clean burning of the street tune. a little smoke to me is cool, but this is beyond that.
In Addition what are the boost numbers you guys are seeing with these tunes? i was expecting to see a little higher. stock i was reading about 23-24psi at WOT, tuned i'm reading about 28psi with it peaking higher as the truck shifts (autometer gauge)
