SCT X3 code reader?

Is the code reader on the SCT X3 any good? I've been having a check engine light come on when ever I tow. I've tried multiple times to pull the code using the code reader feature of the SCT X3, but it never finds any. So today I brought it into my dealer and using their code reader I watched as they pulled multiple codes and told me they FICM and will put a new one in tomorrow.

So what gives? Why could my X3 not pull the C.E.L. codes?

Just a guess but the X3 is just a basic OBD2 code reader if I remember correctly. If your CEL is generated by a manufacturer specific, non-OBD2 problem it wont show up.
