performance mods and egts
Ok so i want to know what your guys egts are reading with like a custom race tune on a 6.0 with stock injectors custom tuned sct stock turbo airraid intake 4in turbo back w/muffler? crusing at about 70 mph and what about when you race down the track whats your egts at 1/8 mile and when you go threw the traps..??Also i was wondering if putting a airdog150 or airdog2 will make more power with stock injectors since your eliminating the air and having a constant flow of fuel there when its needed n the rest if returned to the tank..? thanks in advance guys

Cant help you on the track run temps but I can give you some idea on highway.
I have Gearhead SRL file for the SCT, stock sticks and 4" tubo back. I see about 7-800* ont he highway at 70. I just towed a 9k camper on canned SCT 50HP tow file and temps stayed under 1200* on climbs. |

Yeah I am running a gearhead tune for a studded truck and my cruizing temp is usuall in the 700-800*. I don't think I have ever seen my truck over 1200.

Isnt it bad to go over 1250? cause i see 1600 easily when i run the 1/4 mile...
Greensvt can you take a pic of where you mounted your airdogII please if you get a chance...? also did it make a difference in power or notice better mpg or anything? |

As long as you are not over 1200 for a long time, you are fine. 1/4 is fine.

Ok well when you run the 1/4 mile does your windshield get fogged up from the heat and cant see anything lol i deff see 1600 egt at like 1/8 mile pretty sure..so holding it at 1600 isnt bad for about 30 secs we'll say..?

My windshield fogged up once. Why would you be holding 1600 for 30 seconds? That would be a lot of ground to cover...

Not for nothing but I would probably ditch the canned tune and get an innovative or gearhead tune (65 beans for a single file or like 125.00 I think for a 3 pack.). Your temps will most likely run lower and you will like them better. If your not studded let em' know because the files are different for studded and stock bolts. They tune it back a bit to keep cylinder pressures down for stock bolts. |
