Walkthru for a/c compressor on Excursion

Brand new here and looking for some tips or a full walkthru to replace the a/c compressor on my wife's 03 Excursion 4x2.

Have had a few shops wanting in excess of $500 in labor to do this and can't imagine an a/c compressor being that hard to r&r......could be wrong though.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
