6.0 Engine oil pressure

Hey guys,

Just got a 2005 f350 with 6.0 powerstroke. Other than equipment on the farm, this is my first diesel vehicle. I was just wondering what psi is H on the engine oil pressure guage and what psi is L on the guage. My truck runs just above the L (probably about a 1/4 the way up on the guage) and was curious if this was the normal running range.

Thanks alot guys,

There is no pressure sensor on your truck. That gauge is an idiot light in disguise. There is only a pressure switch which I believe is set between 5-10 psi and either says yeah there is oil pressure or no there isn't. The gauge is pretty meaningless.

The stock gauge operates at 5-10psi like Green stated, at idle your pressure should be about 25psi.
