egt temp

i bought my 6.0 used and it already had an edge juice on it. the egt probe is behind the turbo on the down pipe to the exuast. i cant get a temp above 700 deg. no matter how hard i mash. could this be the problem or could the probe need cleaning or replacing?

you need to put the probe in the manifold.... if not your temps can be anywhere from 200-400 degrees hotter....

YES! I moved mine and the temps shoot up and fall much faster! The temps were probably 300* higher in the manifold.
