06 high idle mod

ju st done the high idle mod on my 06 f350. i dont have upfitter swicthes . just connect to the purple w/light grenn stripe butt end wire over to a toggle switch ($6 at napa) then to 12volts. i slipped a wire under the #5 fuse in the fuse box to get my 12v. the purple/green wire is labeled BCP .there is a lot of info on here about this.hope this helps someone .i was at walmart today and saw a black rocker switch with a small indicator light that looks a lot cooler than my toggle switch ..ya might want to check it out at wally...

The automatic idle your taking about is different that the "high idle mod" you hear about on here. If its below a set ambient temp you truck will idle up to warm its self up. But I think it only revs up to 800-1000 rpms. Where is the PTO high idle revs up to 1200.

i think also if its summer and your engine is at temp it wont idle up by itself..that's when the high idle mod is handy , remember 6.0 does'nt need to idle in excess...i try to idle about 3 min. before shut down to let turbo spool down...
