I'm buying my first diesel and have a couple ??s
I am going to be purchasing an '05 F250 PSD it has low mileage (25K) and I am getting a really great deal on it. The truck has been maintained by the dealer since new. I've been reading on this and a few other forums and I think one of the first things I am going to do is add a coolant filter. I've been reading about these EGR valves being a headache and there is a way to remove or delete them. Is that a good idea on this truck? Can you put one of those delete kits in without changing the computer/exhaust/intake etc?
Another question I can't quite find an answer is the motor in this truck made by International? Thanks for your help! |

Coolant filter is what I did first.
Here are some instructions to a EGR delete kit so you can see what installation requires: http://www.mkmcustoms.com//instructi...ctions_1-4.pdf http://www.mkmcustoms.com//instructi...ctions_5-8.pdf If the State or area you live in has diesel smog check, you might not want to do this, it's your call. I don't have an EGR delete, nor am I recommending this kit, it's just info. The engines are International made Last edited by amdriven2liv; 06-06-2010 at 07:21 AM. |
