egr delete after thought question
Ok so a few weeks ago i did the delete and studs.... took a little while for the truck to run like it used to as far as power. I am sure thats pretty much just the pcm re-learn so that is of no concern. I have had something cross my mind however. I have an 04 so that means i have that throttle butterfly deal right under the intake elbow, i have read that it is there to force the engine into drawing in more exhaust gas by closing up a little bit. Now that i have the delete should i also pull out that butterfly? I can only assume that it still acts as it did while i had the egr cooler installed.

It's a simple thing to try but I think you will need the newer '05 elbow to check your idea.

Or just unscrew the "throttle" plate and run it like that..... i have spent enough money in the past 2 months i dont need to get more stuff to "try" something out just for the hell of it. No disrespect intended.

Just remove the round plate from the shaft and reinstall it, I run my 04 thatway.

Does your CEL come on? Do you have an EGR delete? Or just running with out the butterfly?
