exhaust tip

does a exhaust tip do anything for you besides looks. i just installed a 4" turbo back and was thinking of getting a 6" inch tip. Just wondering if it will give me any sound or just looks?

The sound will change a little because of the dramatic drop in air speed when it hits the 6" tip. Had one on my 96 and it had a nice deep throaty sound.

Soon to come: Turbo, intercooler, Stage 1's, big oil sys., gear vendor over/under to get the mpg's up and to go with the new trans, STACKS ARE ON! ( luckily my brother is a master diesel mechanic- if he can't fix it, it ain't broke)

I think there was some people debating on single walled tip vs. a dual walled tip. Some say with a dual walled you will get a deeper tone or something. I don't really know, I have a 6" dual walled, and I love it

The thicker the wall of the tip, the larger the diameter, and the length of the tip can all help add to the deepness of your exhaust tone.
