Odd EGT's while towing light load.
Went camping with the wife this weekend. I had a bed full of normal camping stuff (tent, food, water Easy Up) and i had my 10ft utility trailer with my 2 ATV's on it. So i would say all together the load was 2,000 lbs.
I set my SCT to the 65hp canned tow tune and it was running hot 900-1000 on the egt and boost was 15-18 and MPG (according to lie-o-meter) was 10mpg. all at 55mph. Before i got to the Sunshine Skyway bridge i flashed it back to stock i figured it was better than nothing.
Was seeing 925 EGT until i hit the 4% grade it was 1100 degrees and once i was done with that it was resting at 925 at about 12psi on flat ground at 60 mph. MPG went up a little
On the way back i flashed it to the 50hp tow tune and it was night and day. truck ran great 800 degrees, 10 psi or less trans at 180 and MPG at 14.5. gotta be something wrong with that 65hp tow tune.
Does anyone make a good tune for towing light loads like this? This is mostly what i tow but sometimes will pull my mother-n-laws 25ft camper. I will flash to stock or get Matts Tow Pig tune for that. Is Tow Pig designed for heavy loads only? looking to get SRL from him soon so figured i would get a package deal.
