Picture's worth a 1,000 words...sounds like you're referring to your intake elbow. Loosen the band (hose) clamp completely...them warm it up using a heat gun or hair dryer...don't get crazy...just make the CAC boot a little more pliable....then work it back on starting from the bottom and stretch it over the intake elbow.

Follow what MOYOCK wrote. I have an 04, so mine is different from yours. I think. You must have an 05 or newer truck. Good luck!
And that pipe is part of your air intake, it comes out of your inter-cooler. |

yes if you don't get it on all the way it will blow off. I've found that you just need to push on it from the left side of the truck and kinda rock it side to side at the same time and it will go with a big pop.

You can do that, however its likely the boot will blow off during acceleration and scare the piss out of you.... If all else fails, try screwdrivers all around the pipe and pry against it.

Have you tried to heat it? Sounds like this tube is a PITA. Better to have it right, then to find out what it might cause later.

I have heard that it could also dent the hood. I have a King Ranch, wouldn't want to clean the leather after that!
