DIY Oil Cooler Delete with Bypass Filter
Hey everyone...
Well I am getting excited to finally get all the parts together to have the 6.0 back on the road. Been building a oil cooler delete system that eliminates the stock oil cooler, stops water to the EGR cooler, adds low micron oil filtration and low flow oil bypass with notification light. The parts are all modified factory parts and will fit without grief. The good stuff is the deletion of the EGR cooler, delete oil cooler, delete the oil to water contact, better filtration, less additional equipment to install. Kind of a one piece does multiple jobs thing. The factory oil cooler is removed and a remote cooler installed. All lines are -12 AN with 400 degree rated hose. There is a check valve, thermostat, pressure gauge, low pressure switch for warning light, low flow bypass and a dual micron filter. One filter will high flow 20 micron and low flow 3 micron at the same time. This will mean less equipment and cheaper filter changes with cleaner oil. Also removed the connection of coolant water to oil system and water to EGR system. No chance of oil/water contamination and no water into intake from EGR cooler problems. Of course the EGR cooler is deleted but in my case the EGR cooler body and hoses are still there to simulate EPA compliance. More info to follow and pictures too. Stay posted as progress is made. ![]()

I am working on the pics...just gotta figure out how to make them show big on the list. When I uploaded some pics last time as attachment it said they had to be a pretty small size and they did turn out pretty small. Any pointers on how to load a big pic like the ones I see on here?

go to photbucket.com and upload them there, once they are done uploading, it will give you an IMG code, copy that code and paste it in a reply

go to a site like Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and upload the pictures there. You can then copy the URL, select the pic button above the reply box, and insert the link.

Also building a RR fuel kit. Got the fittings, regulator, hose and adapters for the in/out on the fuel filter housing. Going to delete the factory regulator poppet and modify the regulator cover to accept a -6 line. Then the fuel filter can vent air and push the return fuel back through the factory line without an adapter.
