Would like to hear pros an cons of adding a programer to my 6.0, truck hauls a camper, 2600#, pulls a bass boat, no complaints with it, fuel milage not great 10 to 12 loaded at 70ish and seems to have plenty of pulling power as is. Reading on this site I see almost all have some kind of tuner along with other mods, don't want to screw things up as this is a ca. truck but was curious as what I could expect by just tuning, SCT, Banks, Edge or whatever any thoughts appreciated

(this is all based off the assumption that you will be using an SCT with custom tuning
Pros - Better fuel mileage, better trans. shifts, turbo braking with tow tunes, GOBS of power (or just a little bit more, depends what you want).......... Cons - NONE ![]() No, really............. Cons - Cali won't like it (maybe that's a pro), higher EGT's, increased risk of HG / EGR problems(most tuners will turn EGR valve off though), decreased fuel economy if you can't keep your foot off the skinny pedal, higher risk of speeding tickets
