Ok guys long story short i got water in the cylinders.... yeah bad on my part i know but i pulled the glow plugs and turned her over and all sounds ok.
Well as i was going to pull the gp's out i was under the impression they were under the valve covers, little more reading and discovered they were outboard in the rocker box..... Soooo i have a lot of the stuff off the top of the motor already and was thinking of pulling the intake and cleaning it out real good. Is there anything else you suggest i should do while im in this far? I really didnt want to spend this amount of time but im already half way there and i dont want to spend a ton of money (home renovations going on now too) but i dont want to have to tear it all down again in a year or two if i can take care of some stuff now Thanks for any insight and ideas you can give me Mike |

Well coming from a master tech i guess ill have to do that, what about the oil cooler? Did some searching and that seems like the thing to do also.
Want to order OEM parts tomorrow or wed so keep the ideas coming. |

I would also consider installing a spring kit in the fuel pressure regulator. |

egr cooler busted , replace oil cooler , delete egr cooler and valve , and you will be fine

yep..delete the egr cooler, rebuild the oil cooler and update the turbo drain tube, we can supply you with all of these parts too.

Good call with the egr cooler........ but your wrong. Its my own stupid fault i am having to do this. Its what i get for helping someone and then being nosy.
Abrannan thanks for the offer, as far as the OEM stuff goes i have a connection at the dealer so i can get stuff at 10% over cost. As for the egr delete i want to be able to reverse is (im sure R.I. will eventually do diesel emissions) so your intake wont help me with that although it is a very nice piece. But hey if you got a spring kit for the FPR lets talk |
