may be a dumb ?

This may be a dumb question, But my factory paint on oil pan is pretty much gone and I was wondering If I used "rattle can" 3m underbody spray. Would the oil pan retain to much heat causing oil temp to rise a little? Or is there a good paint and primer to use? Just trying to keep it from rusting through. Replaced oil pan on 7.3 don't want to do it to this one. Thanks again.

just buy vht high temp paint it holds up nice.
