diff additives

is the limited slip additive the same as the friction modifier?trying to change the gear oil tonite.

I am no tech, but I am pretty sure it is. You may also want to check the gear oil, some of them have the additive in it. If it says LS gear oil, or use in LS rears you don't even have to add the extra LS fluid.
