EGR code

So I'm about to have a shop put in my EGR delete and head studs. I've been told that the 2005-2007 models will throw a code when the EGR is gone. My tuner can clear codes but will it clear it once and be done with it or do I have to keep continuing to delete it? That would be extremely annoying but if it has to be done I'll do it.

Thanks

from my understanding, some throw codes and some don't. I have it written into my tunes so I dont throw a code but I am running a SCT.

Oh okay. I'm running the Six Gun from Banks and hopefully one code clears all! Thanks for your input!

IF your truck is one that will throw a code for the EGR delete, your Banks will only clear the code, after a fed miles it will pop back up. The only way to disable the CEL is with a custom tuned SCT, hope this is the info you were looking for.

It shouldn't pop back up once I clear the code. I can imagine that it will pop back up when I start the truck again but it shouldn't come back in a few miles right?

Take it to a Ford shop and tell them you have done EGR delete, they have a new program for your PCM, it eliminates the codes and more.

Its gonna pop back up every time the key is cycled for sure, and its possible that it will pop up while driving also.
