Sct X3 downloaded use to say VXCF9 and now it says VXCF7

Ok so ive heard that VXCF7 is the FICM killer and i use to have VXCF9 and i bought a sct with custom tunes from innovative like 2 weeks ago and now it says i have VXCF7. Is this somethin i need to worry about or should i call innovative and tell them and see what they say. Not sure any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys im just really hopin it somethin simple and i dont have the FICM killer on it now.

If you bought the X3 from IDP with the custom tunes and they wrote them to VXCF9...then you should have no problem. How did you know what strat code you were running before having the X3? If you had VXCF9 on your PCM...then a tune written to VXCF7 will not overwrite your PCM strategy....the tunes only enhance the PCMs strategy...doesn't actually overwrite it. You may also want to save a copy of your PCM strategy to a file on the PC or flash drive.

i plugged up the sct before to email them the strat code and it showed vxcf9 and i know thats what was on there cause dealer just reflashed the week before that for cold start and after the download of the sct it showed vxcf7. ive heard that its all it is that vxcf7 is just the base they use to right it and they dont actually change anything but i dont recall hearing the vgt cycle anymore since then....Just wanna make sure it didnt get changed right back or i got the wrong custom tune or something

Do this...Return To Stock...then read the Strategy....if it says VXCF9...my guess is that your custom tunes need to be updated to match your truck's strategy. If it now reads VXCF7...then you did not "unlock your box" as its said....didn't return the truck back to stock before getting the dealer flash update...in other words your device still had VXCF7 on it and when you returned to stock you overwrote the vxcf9...try what I said and see which one you have.

ive already checked and it says vxcf9 stock and vxcf7 with the tunes i got the trucked flashed before i bought the sct so does that mean you think he just sent me the wrong one and i need to get ahold of him?

Yes...if after returning to stock and the strat code is vxcf9...then IDP owes you some vxcf9 tunes....I wouldn't run the vxcf7's on your new strat. They know better...just let them know that they sent you the wrong strat code tunes.

alrights so i emailed eric and once again what a great guy. He emailed me back at 830 and told me that i still have my VXCF9 updates and he just uses VXCF7 as a bases to build the tune for milage and power and his tunes only change the PCM/TCM and not the FICM which controls the inductive heating. Hopes other people who are wonderin see this. And thanks for you and erics help.
