ULSD vs LSD

I can get Low sulfur diesel around town....should I use it? Will it be better/worse for the truck?

I've also heard more sulfur = more EGR problems. Any truth to that?

I didn't know they still made low sulfur diesel! I know my truck did get better mileage and seemed to run a little better also with the low sulfur diesel but you can't get any of the here in Roswell, New Mexico. My truck is the 7.3 though. My dad has a 6.0 and back when we could get LSD here it ran great with it. To actually answer your question I do not know if it will cause EGR problems, I really doubt it will. I do know you can't run it in the new 6.4's with the DPF.

If it still truly is LSD run it your mileage will be better among other things. Unlikely that it still is though. After June LSD can not be sold in the US

it is 500 ppm diesel.

I'll give it a whirl.....sucks about june though. Lots and lots of stations around here sell it.

I was told the red dye farm diesel is still LSD by a guy at the gas station. I don't know if it is true or not of course it is illegal to use it on public roads.

That depends on where you are at. After june though you wont be able to get LSD at all

i can still get it around some of my family own a store and they still have it in green fuel my truck runs a heck of alot better on it
