Turbo won't spool after high EGT's

After I hit about 1200F for even a split second, I immediately let off of the accelerator until my temps drop. Once their back down, the turbo doesn't seem to want to spool back up for about 30 seconds.
Is this normal or is anyone else having this problem?

i do but it only happens to me when i am shifting from 5th to 6th (stick). and it motors with no boost and the EGT's go way up. the only way i have found to correct mine is push in the clutch and wait till it idles and come into the throttle slow. or shift back into 5th and try again.

This is still happening to me and seems to be getting worse, wondering if my turbo is about to go.
After I peg 12k for a second, turbo is dead in the water

You having the same problem Chris?
I can't believe no one else has had/fixed it? It's the worst feeling in the world when u take off and then your truck basically stops in the middle of the road (especially if going up hill).
