loud banging starter
hey guys its been awhile since ive been around here but i need some help. my brother had my truck for 2 days and when i got it back the starter or something is making a crazy noise. For starters, the truck runs and drives fine makes no weird noises while driving it. However, when i start the truck, instead of the starting noise being the typical "zinging" cranking noise its loud and banging sounding. is it obvious that the starter has to be replaced. maybe he didnt wait for the coil to light and cranked it forever and something happened to the starter gear?
