Price on a HEADSTUD swap
So I have my truck in the dealership right now and they had to take out the engine due to a bedplate leak.
So I asked about getting them to swap out my TTY bolts to my ARP;s and black onyx gaskets... They said 950.00 to do it since the engine is already out...otherwise would be closer to 2k... I would also have to pay 100.00 to have the machine shop check the heads for flatness and magnaflux them for cracks.... Another 120 or so for the intake gasket and some more for the injector o rings.... So i think he said about 1298.00 installed parts and labor included (with me giving him the ARP's and headgaskets). So is this a fair price??? |

I would be all over it for that price. If you plan to keep the truck for any length of time then chances are better you will have to do down the road then not. If it is a job down the road you will pay around 3K for a private shop and more at the dealer so yes i think i would be all over it. Its a chunk of change but would be a big piece of mind to have it done IMHO.

yep, you will be all done for less then just the labor cost of a stud job out of warranty.
