EGT temps
I have searched the forum and can't seem to find anything about what 6.0L are running for EGT's at normal driving conditions. I know that about 1200 is the max but @ about 65mph I'm running like 800 w/less than 10psi on the boost guage. Can anyone chime in and let me know what they are getting or if that is normal? A guy at work has an 06 and he says he's getting about 700 at that speed so just wondering if mine is high or about normal?
If the EGT's seem to vary on different days does anyone know what might cause that. It is almost like sometime the truck starts and runs cool, and sometimes it starts and runs hotter? EGT's I mean, coolant is good. Thanks |

My egt stays around 500 around town, around 600-700 on highway not towing, can hit a 1000 towing my 10,000 lb toy hauler. Do you have an after market exhaust, that can lower your egt a couple 100 degree

I have had a new monitor for a couple months now and running 70mph I am between 550 and 750 depending if I am holding the throttle a little. At the freeway we have an on ramp that is uphill and I will hit 950 if I put my foot in it and 24 on boost on same ramp
If I am idleing it may be as low as 380 egt. I have not towed a load yet but will soon |

A free flowing exhaust is really gonna help lower your EGTs....if you havent done it already. Anytime you haul azz or go up a grade, EGTs will climb, esp with towing a heavy trailer....increased load = increased EGTs...zoodad mod can help lower EGTs as well...

You really think the zoodad helps EGT's? Also, how much do you think just deleting the CAT would help (I still am under warranty)?
