Ford wants 800$$ for this service..

seems a bit steep? what do you guys recommend?

Depends were your at I'll take care of it few hundred less.
But what I'd do find a good tranny shop that knows the 6.0 5r110 torgshift
get them to do a bypass complete tranny oil flush change and both filters. 18 quarts about 5.50 each 100.00 oil 45-55 filters labor about 75.00 total tranny about 235.00 get tranny fluid at ford
change the fuel filters DO YOURSELF both 35 to 50.00 can't remember cost motorcraft at advance auto parts
change the oil to a good syn Do yourself 125.00 val preimum extreme blue diesel oil NAPA 26.00 a gal need 4 have about third gal left
Check your brake pads do your self change if needed
any grease fitting
I'd go ahead and change gear oils to a good syn front and rear if 4x4 75.00
Total about 500.00 Now if ford will do all that and toss in a brake job all the way around I'd give em 800.00 if I couldn't do it myself.
