Hi--New guy here. Driven Fords all my life. I picked up an 06 F350 dually with a knapheide service box installed that could double as a camper. Actually thought about building beds inside but not right now. I also purchased an flatbed for this rig and thought about removing the service box for hunting season because of the weight and i don't want to be hitting trees with it. Question: Has anyone out there removed the inner wheel/tire off a dually for better traction in the snow? I would do this only if and when i install the flatbed. The flatbed is only 8 feet long and lightweight. The service box i'm now carrying around is just over 1 ton. Also hoping for better diesal milage. I have no idea if this would put too much stress on the outer dually wheel. I would be running a dually wheel--not a non-dually wheel on the rear. Thanks for your input.
