HPOP STC fitting upgrade required for an '04?

I'm wondering as I'm lining up parts for my head gasket job, do I need to upgrade the STC fitting on my HPOP?

Everything I've been reading is that it's used on '05 - '07 trucks as it was prone to defect. I don't have my truck apart, but should I think about doing this anyway, if so, what's the part number I need?

:edit: I forgot to tell ya guys when my truck was built ;P. Manufacture date is Jan 22nd 2004. The motor has a blue sticker on it that says 2003 .

Since no one else has replied...

I'm about 95% certain the answer is 'no'.

I think the defective stc fitting was only used on 05 - 07, and based on the number of failures I read about on the forums it was mostly the 05 model year trucks.

there is no update for STC fitting in the 03-04 HPOP

????What about the 05 year , I'm getting ready for a egr delete and oil cooler rebuild is there a few other things while I'm in there I should do like this stc fitting

If the HPOP cover is aluminum, then yes. Replace the STC fitting with the updated one-piece kit.

Good to know! I put the fitting kit on m,y list of "to-do's..." and I can now put a line through it...

03 and early 04 had a cast pump cover, and then later 04 and up has an alum cover which the stc fitting should be updated.
