MODS?
I recently purchased a 05 250 cc sb lariat. it came with aftermarket cold air intake and 2.5 inch leveling kit. I recently purchased a mbrp turbo back 4 inch exhaust with cat delete to help with performance, not yet installed, hopefully tomorrow. I am looking to help with preventing any egr problems in the future. I have plans to tow a fifth wheel camper in the future. Can anyone sugggest any other mods that may help with performance, mileage, torque. i dont have the funds right now to do studs in the head. I was seriously considering a sct tuner with ability to turn off egr, or is a total delete better. not really wanting to tune jsut wanting a tuner to cut off egr, reason being dont know enough about tuners. are they good for the truck or does they cause more damage in the long run? I noticed that BLE came out with a egr delete in January. Is that the way to go? gauges? Need suggestions on what works from all the experience here. Sorry for all the dumb questions, just trying to do what is best to make this truck last a while.

egr delete is the best thing you can do. if you do tunes get custom tunes that are stock head bolt safe. gauges should be trans, boost, and preturbo pyro

Sinister Diesel (MKM Customs on ebay), $250-$300 for all inclusive kit that you can install yourself.

These kits do exactly that...delete the egr valve, the egr cooler, and the egr cooler "Y" uppipe...what you get is a cooler bypass, solid uppipe, and valve block off plate. No more hot dirty exhaust carbons going into the intake and turbo. No more hot flashing of the egr cooler...ticking time bomb of coolant getting into intake and hydrolocking engine. Better turbo spooling due to new solid uppipe.

You can load a "Custom" tune anytime via an SCT tuner (I'm being biased here because that is the recommended safe programmer for this 6.0L and Torqshift tranny)...just make sure you get yourself some gauges...EGT (most important).

how does the egr delete affect the truck throwing codes? what does the computer read? how else will this delete affect the truck? are there any negatives to doing this?
