Lower radiator hose replacement & warranty ?
Lower radiator hose replacement & warranty ?
I have to replace my lower radiator hose. I crawled under the truck and I cant see the hose clamp where it goes to the water pump. Do i have to remove some stuff to get to this thing? While I'm doing this should I replace the factory clamp or are they usually good to go? I also have a question about the warranty on the hose. My truck has 22K miles on it. All of my other vehicles have had pretty much everything covered until 36k. I had the truck in for bedplate gasket repair at 16k several months ago and got it back with a coolant leak. It was pretty small but I wanted it fixed. I took it back 4 times and they said they could not find the leak. 7 months later (I work out of town and don't drive this truck much) I put dye in the coolant so they could find the leak. I took it in yesterday to the dealer I have been dealing with for 10 years and they called and told me that the lower radiator hose is bad and it would be $300 to repair. I told them that it was a preexisting problem that they caused to begin with but they would not fix it.(My service writer retired a month or so ago). Anyways... I'm pissed about it but now I need to repair it myself I guess. __________________ |
